Texans 2012 - 2013 season

Last season the Houston Texans finished 10-6 with injuries to their QB, RB, and WR and won their division and a playoff game. The NFL in turn rewarded them with 5 primetime games and a trying schedule. Lets see how this season will turn out.

Week 1 -  Dolphins @ Texans 1pm (Sep 9th)

Opening their season up at home against a fairly easy opponent. Last season they played each other in Sun Life Stadium which resulted in a 23-13 win for the Texans. Don't expect the score to be that respectable this time. Dolphins are known to start off slow and the Texans are out to prove that last season was no fluke. FINAL 30-10 (1-0)

Week 2 - Texans @ Jags 1pm (Sep 16th)

Most people don't realize how good the Jags defense was with run stopping ability and not allowing big plays in the passing game. Last season, the Texans were only able to defeat them by 7 in Jacksonville. Still expect this one to be closer than many predict as the Texans offense shows a little rust and layover from the previous week.
FINAL 17-10 (2-0)

Week 3 - Texans @ Broncos 4:15pm (Sep 23rd)

I guess its just destiny that Peyton play the Texans every season that he is able to throw a football. Expect a shoot out as the Broncos defense shows it's age. Peyton's familiarity with the Texans franchise will cause him to know who he can exploit on defense and when to do it. Expect a game winning drive by Manning and a big game from Foster.
FINAL 32-28 (2-1)

Week 4 - Titans @ Texans 1pm (Sep 30th)

What seems to be the Texans 3rd division rival in 4 weeks (really 2), the Texans are relishing the fact that they can create a distance between themselves and any team in the AFC South. Last season the Texans blew out the Titans 41-7 in Nashville but lost 22-23 in Houston. That game they rested a majority of their starters and went for a 2-point conversion instead of kicking an extra point to send it to overtime. Expect this game to not be close as the Texans show the Titans that they should have kept Finnegan.
FINAL 35-10 (3-1)

Week 5 - Texans @ Jets 8:30pm (Oct 8th)

Every time I think of the Texans vs the Jets, I remember Sanchez throwing in the back of the endzone to Holmes on a game winning drive to beat us 2 seasons ago. I hope the Texans have the same memory that I have. The Jets aren't as strong defensively or fluid offensively as they were then. No game winning drive for Sanchez as he throws for 2 picks and the crowd chants for Tebow on national television.
FINAL 28-7 (4-1)

Week 6 - Packers @ Texans 8:20pm (Oct 14th)

As much as I would hate for either one of these teams to lose, it is my responsibility to pick a winner, not necessarily a loser though. Both teams being my favorite in their respectively conference, I wish they didn't have to play one another. The Packers coming off a season where they were favored to win the title but fell in the first game of the playoffs, they are out with a point to prove. The Texans get caught in the lime light this being their second consecutive game in Prime Time. Look for it to be a shoot out and Rodgers shows Schaub, he still has a little more room before he is elite.
FINAL 42-30 (4-2)

Week 7 - Ravens @ Texans 1pm (Oct 21st)

Why this isn't a Prime Time game, the world will never know. The Ravens having beat the Texans in the playoffs (20-13) this game is sure to be a smash mouth hard nosed football game. If the Texans are as tired of hearing about the fact that they 0-5 against the Ravens, as I am, then they will change that. Expect a close game but the Texans power running game be the difference.
FINAL 13-10 (5-2)

Week 8 Bye

Week 9 - Bills @ Texans 1pm (Nov 4th)

Coming off a bye, I don't think this game is going to even be close. If the Bills are able to create turnovers then the game might not be a blow out but I don't even see that happening. Texans want to make Mario Williams look bad for leaving them and that is exactly what they will do.
FINAL 28-10 (6-2)

Week 10 - Texans @ Bears 8:20pm (Nov 11th)

This is a game that will be the game that most Texan fans will remember for the rest of the year. Both teams evenly matched, I don't have the Texans winning this one. The combination of Bush and Forte will prove too much for the Texans linebacking core. Hard fought game but the Texans will fall.
FINAL 20-17 (6-3)

Week 11 - Jags @ Texans 1pm (Nov 18th)

Coming off a lost, the Texans will have to take their anger out on somebody but the Jags won't roll over. Expect this to be another rough game in which Schuab looks rattled more than Texan fans will like to see but in the end, the Jags don't have enough offense to keep up.
FINAL 17-3 (7-3)

Week 12 - Texans @ Lions 12:30pm (Nov 22nd)

Coming off a very short week and running straight into a playoff team from last year, expect this to be high throwing affair. Andre Johnson vs Calvin Johnson to see who is really the best in the league. Which ever team hits 35 first wins, and that will be the Texans and Stafford throws a costly pick.
FINAL 35-32 (8-3)

Week 13 - Texans @ Titans 1pm (Dec 2nd)

Nothing like coming off of a long weeks rest, expect a huge game from Foster. Titans will be looking for revenge for an earlier lost this season at the hands of the Texans but wont be able to muster any offense as the newly replaced Jake Locker goes through the trials and errors of being an NFL QB.
FINAL 24-10 (9-3)

Week 14 - Texans @ Patriots 8:30pm (Dec 10th)

B

This will be the Texans 5th Prime Time game and the 4th on the road. This is looking like a future AFC Championship match up. Good thing for the Texans but bad thing for their record as they lose this game as the Pats control the clock with a very quick passing game. Texans will look for revenge in the playoffs.
FINAL 24-14 (9-4)

Week 15 - Colts @ Texans 1pm (Dec 16th)

I guess because Manning no longer is a Colt, this match up isn't as highly ranked as it use to be. With Luck running the show, look for struggles against this complicated Wade Phillips defense. No rookie had success against it last season, and I don't see much changing about that this season.
FINAL 23-13 (10-4)

Week 16 - Vikings @ Texans 1pm (Dec 23rd)

No matter what people say, there is no way Adrian Peterson will be at full health going into the 2012-2013 season. Said that to say this, there is no way AP will be at full strength heading into this week 16 matchup. I figure he will be shut down by this point in the season as they keep him healthy for next season. No AP, no problem. Texans win easy.
FINAL 30-7 (11-4)

Week 17 - Texans @ Colts 1pm (Dec 30th)

Having an 11-4 record and probably already locked up playoff position, the Texans might be inclined to rest their starters if injuries are a factor. If that is the case, then they lose. The fan in me wants them to play so for the first time in franchise history, we will sweep the Colts. Lets just go with the fan side.
FINAL 20-17 (12-4)
