We all wish the game was as simple as X's and O's and then watching our favorite players get out and execute to the best of their ability every night. But it's not. I take it as a personal job to constantly remind fans that the NBA is a business. And with that being said, business moves must take place.
With his numbers taking a serious dip from last year, and on a steady decline since becoming a Laker, it's now or never for the Lakers to get rid of Pau Gasol.
After throwing away Lamar Odom like spoiled eggs, it seems like only 2 Laker employees have decided they needed to step up. Those two men are Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum. There numbers have improved as Kobe is currently the NBA's leading scorer, and Andrew Bynum is easily the 2nd best center in the game behind Dwight Howard.
But for some reason, Pau obviously saw no sense of urgency to stake his claim through hard work, great defense or scoring output once this NBA season was finally given the green light to begin.....
So with all this being said and Pau Gasol's declining play. He looks to make ($19 million in 2012-2013 and 19.2 million in 2013-2014), That's $38 million dollars.......The Lakers have to move him or amnesty him next year.......Because if no one will take him this year, you'd better believe no one will take him next year. it's now or never for the Lakers........ #FACT.
