Many like myself may have heard of the term/phrase "shoot-out at the O.K. Corral" but many have never heard the story. Well here we go............. on Wednesday, October 26, 1881, in Cochise County, Arizona at roughly 3:00pm the most famous gunfight in the history of the American Old West took place. Where outlaws Cowboys Billy Clanton, Tom McLaury and his brother Frank McLaury, met mid-day when the law was heavily opposed and went into battle against lawmen Virgil Earp and his brothers Morgan and Wyatt Earp, aided by Doc Holliday acting as a temporary deputy of Virgil.
This brings us to 05/21/2012 where the NBA outlaw L.A. Lakers marched into Oklahoma City with outlaws Metta "Leave Ya Face In" Pieces, Kobe "Shoot Shoot and Shoot Some More" Bryant, Andrew "Big Gun" Bynum, Pau "Shy Away From Shooting" Gasol and Ramone "Scared to Shoot" Sessions came to battle...... the Oklahoma City officials Sheriff Kevin "Dead Shot" Durant, Deputy James "The Bearded Bastard" Harden and the "Geico Lizard Lieutenant" Russell Westbrook in a loser leave town battle to determine if the L.A. Lakers were worthy of life in the NBA play-offs or needed to evacuate the premises IMMEDIATELY!!!!
The shoot out began at a pace the L.A. vigilante's could compete at. But with limited bullets and Andrew "Big Gun" Bynum getting wounded early (acquiring two fouls) the Lakers allowed Mr. Kobe "Shoot Shoot and Shoot Some More" Bryant to do just that. Which caused Sessions to feel like he had to defer to Kobe which made Ramone give up his bullets even when he had clear shots to do damage. Mr. Metta came out and did his part and inflicted as much pain, terror and havoc upon the OKC officials as possible which gave OKC free shots at the unarmed vigilantes. With Bynums big guns away the OKC lawmen went on a rampage..... Sheriff "Dead Shot" came through with pin point perfectly timed shots to hurt the Lakers badly. The "Bearded Bastard" with "Big Gun" Bynum afraid to be aggressive was able to terrorize the L.A. vigilantes. And the "Geico Lizard Lieutenant" did what he does best........... attacked and repeatedly struck with shots that would destroy any team.
When the tumbleweed stopped rolling and the dust settled, the Lakers didn't have enough to competitively withstand the shots by the OKC lawmen. And just like the battle in 1881, the lawmen won, and sent the Lakers home in a casket.
**************** BUT THIS ISN'T THE POINT OF THIS STORY!!!!!!! *******************
During the festive activities in Thunder Alley outside of the Oklahoma Thunder basketball venue, the celebration turned ugly as 8 people were shot and wounded. City officials also say a pregnant woman was assaulted during the melee' and this is just the initial report.
