Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Gets A Statue

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been a staple to the Lakers Organization at the Staples Center even after he retired 23 years ago.

Lakers fans will be able to see him once again as they travel into the Staples Center. The Lakers plan to put a statue outside of the arena to honor their Captain, the NBA's all-time leading scorer. They are planning to announce the official date in the near future of the unveiling.

I am just wondering why he is just getting this statue in his honor. With the Lakers Kareem was stellar. He has six, let me count them for you 1,2,3,4,5,6 championships, six MVPs and 19 time All-Star coming in his 20 year career in the NBA. Even though his ties with the Organization as a special assistant were cut during the 2010-11 season, this still should have been up. He was cut after voicing his opinion on the Lakers putting an Jerry West statue up before his.

There are already five statues surrounding the outside of the Staple Center : Wayne Gretzky, Broadcaster Chick Heam, Jerry West and Magic Johnson. Hopefully he will keep his mouth shut long enough to at least get the statue up before they Joe Paterno his ass.

What Do Y'all Think About him getting a Statue ?
