HORNETS HAVE A NEW OWNER

The Saints' owner Tom Benson, agreed to purchase the New Orleans Hornets today April 13. 2012.

Benson brought success to the Saints and made them a house hold name 3 decades ago and wants the same thing for the Hornets. During his press conference today he expressed that he believes the Hornets will be one of the most outstanding teams in the league.

The purchasing price for the team was $338 Million. The NBA has been trying to sell the team since buying it from former owner George Shinn in December of 2010. While trying to sell the team they also negotiated a lease that will keep the Hornets in New Orleans til 2024.

After the deal was approved by the NBA Board of Governors, David Stern took to the media to say, "The City is one of the country's treasures and we really have found the perfect owner". The 84 year old owner stated, "Who better to purchase the team other then a Native of the New Orleans (The Boot).

Unsure if Benson will change the name of the Hornets team to represent New Orleans with a name that will give you a piece of it's culture. We all know it can not be the Jazz which was once the New Orleans basketball team the city lost to Utah due to relocation in 1979. There's many name the team could be called.
