Is ESPN changing fans opinion on sports?

24 hour sports news coverage on all sports possibly available to the human race, and for any other race for that matter. Sounds like a match made in heaven to any true sports fans and casual sports fan. Behind the scenes on all the hottest news. Apps that will send it directly to your phone. Could it get much better?

NO.

ESPN has a great format but they are becoming a problem just as much as they are helping. How many times have they spread rumors about sports athletes being shopped by there respective franchise only for those statements to be deemed untrue. They throw the term "Senior Sports Analyst" on a reporter just to make they rumor that they are spreading seem reliable.

How often have they come out of left field with stats that kind of caught you off guard? Don't answer that. They gather those stats just to prove a point as to why what they are saying has to be true. But they don't show you all the stats that they have gathered. No, because then you might form another opinion and no longer believe in theirs.

ESPN completely changes the entire image of sports athletes as they see fit for whatever is going to sell. Need an example? LeBron James. Remember when he was a Cav and all ESPN showed was him dancing around and having the time of his life. Fast forward to the present, they show those same videos of him dancing and saying how immature that is. How about the Spurs? ESPN will not give them any coverage because Tim Duncan is just to...well you know...normal. The last time they made the headlines was Tony Parker's divorce.

ESPN has to often fall in line with trying to sell an image or go with what is hot instead of showing stuff for what it really is. LeBron James' dancing was immature when it happened and the Spurs are an elite team. Promote the right things, don't cast them off as nothing major. They promote drama and child like antics (see how much Andrew Bynum has been in the news lately) but ignore when people are playing the game right (not much news on Arian Foster is there?). As a fan of sports, please stop trying to shift our opinions and display sports figures in any manner that ESPN sees fit. That's more WWE area of expertise.

  1. If you can't find any news on the Spurs, you are not looking. Any site knows what draws the most reads or page hits, ESPN is a direct reflection on us as well.
I am not an insider, I don't think paying to have access to rumors is a smart thing to do, but they are clearly listed as rumors, and readers just can't seem to get enough.
