We all know 50 cent as the rapper and the person who earned hundreds of millions from the sale of Vitaminwater and as having a couple movies under his belt. I can't forget also as Floyd belt carrier. Well the Queens native pursued boxing.
Curtis Jackson has founded TMT promotions, which is short for The Money Team Promotions. He has been licensed to promote fights in New York. Nevada State athletic Commissioner Keith Kizer stated that he is now in the process of applying for a license in Nevada as well.
It was reported through 50's longtime friend and training camp mainstay, Floyd Mayweather that he is expected to sign former featherweight title holder Yuri Gamboa and super middleweight Andre Dirrell. I reported before that Curtis had an interest in boxing around the time of the Mayweather vs. Cotto fight.
They are still hinting at even putting 50 out there one time and have him fight on pay-per-view. We all know he will be involved in the promotion aspect of this. I just don't know about the boxing side.
Even though Jackson, a South Jamaica Queens native, did compete in the Junior Olympics as a boxer growing up, before his big break with "Get Rich of Die Tryin'"
I don't like his music anymore or never really did, but I can not say I don't like him as the businessman that he has turned out to become.
