NIKE STIFF ARMS REEBOK FOR NFL CONTRACT

April 3rd, Nike will unveil new uniforms for the NFL 2012 season.

This came about after the contract with Reebok that was officially owned by adidas came to an end. After 10 years the NFL will focus on new equipment and uniforms.

This is not the first time Nike has had their hands on uniforms. Just a few years ago Phil Knight and Nike changed uniforms for the NCAA. They took the NCAA from its traditional style jerseys to the next level such as Oregon, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Stanford and both Army and Navy.

Nike has heard several uneasy comments about them taking over the look of the NFL. Mary Parker, CEO and President stated that, "We will have fun while respecting the traditions of the teams". They have intertwined the team logo on all the gloves as show in the above picture.

I personally think this will be exciting and bring a new breath to the NFL. I also agree with Matt Arnold, analyst for Edward Jones & Company in St. Louis when he said, "It's another opportunity to put the swoosh on the world-class athletes, and that is what Nike is all about, and always operated".

The intents of the deal are not official, but said to be 5 years and possibly at 25 million. They will have the unveiling in New York City. When I receive more information on it I will let you know.
