MLB OPENING DAY. WILL THE CHAMPS SPOIL THE MIAMI GRAND OPENING?

St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins (April 4 at 7:05 p.m. EST)

Owned by the Miami-Dade County section of Florida resting in Little Havana sits the brand new rebuilt and relocated home of the Miami Marlins stadium. With a retractable roof, and seating 37,000 this new Miami landmark will host the first game of the 2012 MLB regular season. Granted they just dropped a 10-8 exhibition game loss to the Bronx Bombers.Their were flashes of hope as Gaby Sanchez homered a blast over the fence near the 392ft marker in right-center while Logan Morrison and Giancarlo Stanton both plowed two hits, with Stanton driving in a couple of runs. This was very satisfying to Miami manager Ozzie Guillen whom was very adamant about having his two corner outfielders in today's opening day line-up. And with their exhibition performances .Guillen seems to be very happy.

And being placed against the defending World Series champs just because your full of pride due to your new facility isn't too fair if you ask me..... but what better way to kick-off the season.
With their free agent pick-ups 3x All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes and 3x All-Star pitcher Heath Bell the Marlins look to have a chance in this battle with the champs. With Pujols out of town and a change-up at manager, I'm expecting the Marlins to cash in on this opportunity at home tonight.
