THE LEAGUE WANTS THE $$$$.... AND HAS THE KNIFE AT THE PLAYERS BACKS......LITERALLY

Just as it is in the world Major League Soccer and NASCAR racing, the NBA is considering the trend of allowing advertisement on team jerseys. This has been a part of Major League Soccer since it's inception, and has paid off very lucratively for the MLS and it's team owners.

Let's not be blind. We all know, this is all a matter of monetary gain and how it may/ may not benefit the league (not the players.... unless the players personally endorsed companies wanna toss something in the pot of course).

But the biggest issue I see, is why should a huge company pay a player for commercials, magazine ads and billboards when they can just cut out the player and pay the league or team owner for an advertisement on the players back.... This will lead to another huge player vs. league showdown very soon. Now I'm starting to see why Mr. Stern is ready to call it quits........

THE FUTURE LOOKS HORRIBLE............
***************** UPDATE*************************UPDATE*********************

At a press conference in Vegas yesterday, the NBA deputy and Mr. Stern's future replacement Adam Silver has indicated that he and the team owners are strongly in favor of placing 2.5" x 205" sponsor patches on team uniforms........... Cut-throat is what I call it. But after the move Adidas just pulled with the Dwight Howard situation, this might be necessary. 1. I see a lawsuit to prevent this from occurring or the league having to pay the players a percentage

  2. I agree. But we forget, they work for the owners. How much pull do they actually have. Its not like they're partners. The players are employees.... And you know how that goes.
